Hello everyone…In my initial posts, I have provided an introduction to the core agenda of Passion Vs Paycheque. The former topics dealt with topics like understanding what your soul tends to follow (16 Jun, 6:26 pm THE SOUL’S PROPAGANDA –Passion Vs Job..!!) and how one should fuse his passion and profession to make the desired career (19 Jun, 11:21 pm Passion Vs Paycheck: Unifying the ‘Passion’ and the ‘Profession’ to craft an ideal Career ??)…..
You may revisit these to keep abreast of the ideas presented on the blog …so far!!!
Now, just imagine a situation, you are already well versed with your passion and you are equally aware of how efficiently your job leads you to the passion you follow. Hence, any fine day a person can get up and decide to follow his passion as his profession after quitting his job…but will this ensure a sustainable future? Or it has to be perfectly timed about when you need to dump your dead-end job and start pursuing your passion driven goals?
This is perhaps the most crucial question that decides the fate of your decision…and sadly, there is no mathematical or empirical formula to arrive at the correct answer!!
But, ignoring the extremely non-mathematical nature of this timing factor , there is still a great theory behind timing it right…the theory of ‘Matching external and internal indicators’!!!
External indicators are those reflections and reactions of the people around you, the well-wishers, relatives, friends, acquaintances, and anyone else who are capable of recognizing or criticizing your talent and passion. If you have not segregated them yet, you may make a sample pool of, say 10 people whom you can choose to review your level of excellence, at a point…
The internal indicator is just one, your inner-self…the soul which is always reviewing your capabilities to deliver the best with respect to your passion and corresponding talent.
So, the theory of ‘Matching external and internal indicators’ says….” You have to consider it the right time when your external indicators and the internal indicator fall in line and give similar reviews about the excellent level that you have attained, for pursuing your passion!!!
Let us have an example of the legendary British Comedy Artist, Rowan Atkinson a.k.a. Mr. Bean
Since his childhood days, Rowan was always praised by his friends and family members for his funny faces and comic expressions. People appreciated his unique abilities to make them laugh without even uttering any word!!! However, Rowan continued with his studies and completed his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from New Castle University. He then pursued his Masters in Electrical Engineering from The Queen’s College, Oxford, in 1975.
During his Masters, he participated in all of the theatre-related events, joined all of the dramatics and acting related clubs, and came upon a fictional character named Mr. Bean. The character received huge appreciation from the audience and Rowan was equally convinced of its potential to create history!!! He then decided to follow acting as a full-time profession for the next 15 years and then came up with his own sitcom series, Mr. Bean, aired in 1990!! The rest as we all know…is history!!!
Today…Rowan Atkinson is a man worth $150 Million and counting…He is known as a world famous Actor, Comedian, and Screenwriter…a man who matched his external and internal indicators at the perfectly right moment and went ahead to grab his passion and made himself a legend!!!
So that’s all for this week…see you next Tuesday…Pl read, comment, and review the blog for making it better!!!
